Stand-downs and suspensions
Cases per 1,000 students in 2025, adjusted for the ages of the school’s students, compared with all New Zealand schools.
These measure how a school responds to behaviour, and schools set their own thresholds, so they are not a measure of how students behave.
What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a Te Ara Huarau School Profile Report from June 2023. This kind of report sets out what ERO and the school will evaluate together, here how well the board, leaders, teachers and students use assessment information, with the aim of lifting progress for students at risk of falling behind and helping students set goals and reflect on their own learning.
ERO noted that the school offers full Māori immersion, partial immersion and English-medium learning, and pointed to a safe and caring culture, an inclusive setting for students with diverse needs, and a well-organised online curriculum resource for teachers.
From here the school plans to agree one set of learning progressions across the school so students follow a clear learning pathway, and to change how assessment information is reported to the board so it says more about how students at risk of falling behind are progressing.
