Who goes here
Share of the 654 students who identify with each group. Students can name more than one, so these add up to more than 100%.
MELAA: Middle Eastern, Latin American and African.
Stand-downs and suspensions
Cases per 1,000 students in 2025, adjusted for the ages of the school’s students, compared with all New Zealand schools.
These measure how a school responds to behaviour, and schools set their own thresholds, so they are not a measure of how students behave.
What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Evaluation Report from August 2024. ERO found that the majority of learners are on track at expected curriculum levels, with reading and writing improving and mathematics lower, and that results are still uneven for some groups.
Literacy has lifted after targeted support, students are more confident in their identity and culture, and the school is working towards the Ministry’s attendance targets with staff dedicated to following up absences.
ERO described leaders who build a shared commitment to good teaching, well-resourced support for students who need extra help, and a student council that leaders meet with regularly. In the Māori-medium classes of Te Whare o Te Roro o Te Rangi, tamariki are growing in confidence with te reo and tikanga Māori.
The agreed next steps are to make better use of assessment information to shape teaching, especially in mathematics, help students use strategies to manage their own learning, give kaiako professional learning on Te Marautanga o Aotearoa so they can build a local curriculum for the Māori-medium classes, and keep a strong focus on wellbeing, inclusion and lifting attendance.
