What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a Te Ara Huarau School Profile Report from November 2023. This kind of report sets out what ERO and the school will evaluate together, here how well the school’s own local curriculum supports wellbeing, engagement and fair outcomes for every student, with attendance, progress and achievement named as priorities.

ERO noted the school’s two te reo Māori immersion classes and pointed to an established local curriculum that sets expectations for teaching, sound systems that support learning and wellbeing, close relationships with whānau, hapū and iwi, and leaders and staff who look after the whole child.

Next, the school will focus on professional learning for staff so the local curriculum, teaching and assessment, and its wellbeing and engagement strategies are applied consistently across the school, with the aim of fair and strong outcomes for all students, including faster progress for those who are behind.
