What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from May 2025. ERO found that success and progress are increasing, with a large majority of learners at or above the expected curriculum level in reading, writing and maths, and results becoming more even across groups.

Achievement has risen over time, with clear gains for Māori learners, and students who need extra help are supported by specialist staff and targeted funding. ERO also noted good quality teaching, a structured approach to literacy and maths, and leaders who give parents and whānau regular chances to take part in school life.

Regular attendance is behind the government’s 80% target, though ERO found the school has a suitable plan and attendance is improving.

ERO’s next steps are to lift achievement in reading, writing and maths, especially for students not yet at the expected level, make teaching and assessment more consistent, build students’ skills in managing their own learning, and keep raising regular attendance.
