What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Evaluation Report from September 2024. ERO found that results have improved over time and are becoming fairer, with a large majority of students at the expected curriculum level in reading, writing and maths and some students making faster progress in reading and maths. A majority of students attend regularly, but the school has not yet reached the Ministry’s attendance target.
ERO saw collaborative leadership focused on improvement, a local curriculum that builds strong foundations in literacy and maths, respectful and inclusive classrooms, more whānau involvement in decisions, and growing partnerships with whānau and iwi to better meet the needs of Māori students. It noted that the impact of teacher professional learning on achievement is not yet clear and that board members want governance training.
The agreed next steps are to raise regular attendance, build the use of te reo Māori in line with whānau hopes, formally review how professional learning is affecting student results, and for the board to finish reviewing school policies and set a regular review cycle.

Enrolling
As a state-integrated school, it gives preference to families with a connection to the beliefs, values and lifestyle of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and also offers a limited number of non-preference places to families who accept the school’s special character.
The school’s site says it is open to all Christian denominations, that non-preference applicants who cannot be placed straight away can join a waiting list, and that compulsory attendance dues apply.
Families request an enrolment meeting through the school’s Enrolment Info page and need a birth certificate and immunisation record. Pre-schoolers can attend the weekly transition-to-school programme before they start.
